Christopher R. Wilkes

Biography
Christopher Wilkes is an associate in the Fort Worth Office's Corporate & Securities Section.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wilkes was a legal and compliance associate at Blue Rivers Partner, LLC, where he developed compliance programs and drafted documents for legal advisors, private equity directors, and hedge fund managers. 

Mr. Wilkes received his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2017 and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas.  He is a member of the Texas Bar Association.

Experience and highlights
  • Developed client specific compliance programs for investment advisers in accordance with the requirements of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940
  • Conducted quarterly and annual testing for clients to monitor program implementation, identify new regulatory requirements, and update compliance programs
  • Assisted companies with regulatory filings with the SEC and other government entities including Form ADV, Form D, 13F, 13H, CFTC 4.13a3, 4.5, 4.7
  • Drafted and reviewed confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, and marketing materials for private equity and hedge fund managers
  • Advised clients about regulatory changes in areas such as use of social media by investment advisers, Pay-to-Play rules, Bad Actor disclosures, and general solicitation rules for Regulation D
  • Assisted clients with responding to due diligence questionnaires for prospective investors/clients and service providers
