Jonathan I. Heathman

Biography
Jonathan I. Heathman is an associate in the Corporate & Securities Section of the firm.  Mr. Heathman currently focuses his practice on the private equity business, including the drafting and negotiation of confidentiality agreements for the firm’s private equity clients. He is based in the firm’s Fort Worth office.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Heathman was an associate at Hill Gilstrap, P.C. in Arlington, Texas.

Mr. Heathman graduated with a B.B.A. from the University of Houston and earned his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Heathman interned for the Honorable Martin Hoffman at the 68th District Court of Dallas County.

Mr. Heathman is an active member of the State Bar of Texas, the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association, and the Texas Aggie Bar Association.
Experience and highlights
  • Managed an extensive case load providing strategic guidance, management of defense, electronic discovery, depositions, mediations, and settlements
  • Assisted companies with contractual disputes; business formation and governance; drafting of non-disclosure, non-compete agreements, vendor agreements; and general corporate law
  • Defended employers in state and federal court cases involving workplace claims including workers' compensation retaliation, alleged discrimination and harassment, and the enforceability of covenants-not-to-compete
  • Handled numerous commercial  litigation and general civil litigation matters
