Travis P. Clardy

Biography
Travis P. Clardy attended Abilene Christian University where he received his B.B.A. in Management, in 1984.  He graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1988 and was a member of the Pepperdine Law Review from 1986-1988.

Mr. Clardy's practice involves civil litigation at both the state and federal levels in a broad range of commercial matters, including employment law, environmental law, trucking litigation, insurance litigation, products liability litigation, and commercial litigation.  He also provides business and corporate counsel, and creditor's bankruptcy representation.  Mr. Clardy represents individuals, private business interests and Fortune 500 companies and is licensed to practice before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Clardy is the former president of the Shelby and Nacogdoches County Bar Associations and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates  (East Texas Chapter) and State Bar of Texas. In addition to Clardy’s legal affiliations, he has served on the Executive Board of the East Texas Boy Scouts, is a Paul Harris Fellow at the Nacogdoches Rotary Club, and a member of the Dean’s Circle for the Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts.

Mr. Clardy is the current State representative for House District 11, representing Cherokee, Nacogdoches, and Rusk counties. He serves as Vice Chair of the Local and Consent Calendars and Chair of the Higher Education Subcommittee on Post-Secondary and Workforce Readiness. He is a member of the Higher Education, Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence, State and Federal Power committees.  For his legislative endeavors, Rep. Clardy was recognized as a Legislator of the Year by the Texas Municipal Police Association, earned the Courageous Conservative Award by the Texas Conservative Coalition, and was declared A+ rated by the Texas Future Business Alliance. He was ranked as one of the top five most influential freshman members by Capitol Inside’s Texas Legislative Power Rankings and received a 100% score for his voting record by the Texas Association of Business.
