Kelly Hart Announces New Partner in Charge of Austin Office and Office Move
(June 10, 2015) Andrew Weber, former First Assistant Attorney General of Texas under now- Governor Gregg Abbott, is the new Partner in Charge of Kelly Hart & Hallman's Austin office. His appointment coincides with the office's move to the 20th floor of 303 Colorado Street effective July 1, 2015.
In his new role, Weber will oversee client and community initiatives and focus on long-term strategic planning for the Austin office. Additionally, he will continue to chair the firm’s Public Law practice group, counseling clients who need assistance navigating the intersection of law and policy.
“Steve Ravel has done a wonderful job guiding our Austin office for the past decade but this change will give him a chance to spend more time on his litigation practice,” said Dee Kelly Jr., Managing Partner, Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP. “We’re very excited about our future in Austin.”

Mr. Weber joined Kelly Hart in 2006, after serving as the first lawyer clerk of the Texas Supreme Court, in over 100 years. At then General Abbott's request, he left the firm when he was named head of the Civil Division of the Attorney General's office. He was later appointed First Assistant Attorney General. Kelly Hart welcomed Mr. Weber back as a partner in 2010.
Before joining Kelly Hart in 2006, Mr. Weber served as a briefing attorney to then-Justice Greg Abbott and later as a staffing attorney to then-Justice Priscilla Owen. Mr. Weber received his degree from SMU. Weber graduated, magna cum laude, from Baylor Law School, where he served as the Symposium Editor of the Baylor Law Review and a member of the Order of the Barristers.
