Kayla Matus joins the firm as an associate in the Corporate & Securities practice group.
Ms. Matus graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she was elected into the Order of the Coif and earned the Top Grade Award in Contracts, Torts, Legal Practice I, Legal Practice II, Criminal Law, Water Law, Business Entities, Advance Tax, and Commercial Law. Additionally, Ms. Matus earned the Distinction Award in Civil Procedure, Law Office Management, and Negotiations Workshop. Ms. Matus served as an Articles Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review and received the Outstanding Articles Editor Award for Texas Tech Law Review Volume 49. She also was the 2017 recipient of the Professor Dean G. Pawlowic Award, the 2014 recipient of the Underwood Top Grade Award, and the 2014 recipient of the Miller Law Firm Top Grade Award.
Prior to law school, Ms. Matus received her B.S., magna cum laude, in Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University.
