The Government Investigations team at Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP represents financial institutions, public companies, and senior executives in regulatory investigations; conducts internal investigations; and acts as an independent consultant to firms in matters arising out of regulatory settlements. Our Government Investigations team defends public and private companies, financial institutions, and officers and directors in various matters, including class actions, lawsuits asserting violations of the federal and state securities laws, and shareholder derivative actions and claims challenging mergers and acquisitions. We also advise audit committees and special litigation committees.

The Kelly Hart team includes Toby Galloway, a former Chief Litigation Counsel for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC’s) Fort Worth Regional Office, who prosecuted dozens of SEC enforcement actions and supervised dozens more; Shauna Wright, former prosecutor for the State of Florida, Director of the Clay County State Attorney’s Office and the Chief of the Special Victims Unit, handling homicide cases from investigation through trial and prevailing as lead counsel in over 100 jury trials; and Lars Berg, a Board Certified – Personal Injury Trial Lawyer by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates who regularly handles civil cases involving fraud and has also served as the court-appointed receiver in a $ 40 million Ponzi scheme halted by the SEC and criminally prosecuted by the DOJ.

Our attorneys practice before the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, DOJ, Texas State Securities Board, state securities regulators, CFPB, FDIC, FTC, PCAOB and other regulatory and law-enforcement agencies. We routinely respond to administrative and grand-jury subpoenas. We represent public companies, audit committees and special committees, hedge funds and asset managers, accountants and lawyers, and other institutions and individuals in government investigations, internal investigations, securities law enforcement, white-collar defense, and litigation.
