John R. Gillett
BIOGRAPHY
John Gillett is an associate in Kelly Hart’s Litigation practice group. He represents both corporate and individual clients in state and federal courts, handling complex commercial litigation, breach of contract, real estate disputes, business torts, and products liability cases.
Before joining Kelly Hart, Mr. Gillett worked as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas for the Honorable Mark T. Pittman and the Honorable Jeffrey L. Cureton. In law school, he also gained experience as a judicial intern for the Honorable Brantley Starr and for the Honorable Justice Dabney Bassell.
Mr. Gillett received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University School of Law, where he served as the Note & Comment Editor for the Texas A&M Journal of Property Law. He also graduated magna cum laude with a B.B.M. from Houston Baptist University, where he played on the baseball team.
EXPERIENCE AND HIGHLIGHTS
- Represented a gentleman facing decades in prison on a pro bono basis through a court appointment against the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.
