BIOGRAPHY

Michael D. Anderson is a seasoned trial attorney and co-chairs Kelly Hart’s Litigation Section. With over 22 years of legal practice, Mr. Anderson has navigated a diverse array of high-stakes litigation cases. His extensive trial experience encompasses cases involving breach of contract, breach of warranty, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, trade secret theft, and fraud.

Beyond these commercial matters, Mr. Anderson has also provided legal representation to religious organizations, addressing a wide spectrum of concerns from internal governance issues to defending against allegations of sexual misconduct. Throughout his career, Mr. Anderson has remained actively engaged in representing both individuals and businesses who have suffered injury due to the misconduct or negligence of others.

EXPERIENCE AND HIGHLIGHTS
  • Trial counsel to a local business that received defective heavy machinery.  Obtained a multi-million-dollar jury verdict against the manufacturer after a two-week trial
  • Trial counsel to the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth in a highly publicized dispute involving the Carmelite Nuns.  Obtained dismissal of all claims after an evidentiary hearing
  • Trial counsel to a local doctor in a partnership dispute.  Obtained a multi-million-dollar judgment upon the conclusion of trial
  • Trial counsel to a Fortune 500 company facing allegations of sexual misconduct.  Obtained a take-nothing judgment following a three-week jury trial
  • Trial counsel to a local franchisee in a dispute with the franchisor.  Obtained a multi-million-dollar judgment after a two-week jury trial
  • Trial counsel to the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth in a lawsuit involving allegations of sexual misconduct on the part of a priest and school administrator. Obtained a dismissal of all claims against the Diocese after the close of discovery
  • Trial counsel to a business that was defrauded in connection with its acquisition of a home health agency.  Obtained a multi-million-dollar judgment on fraud and breach of contract claims after a six-week jury trial
  • Trial counsel to non-operators in a fraud and contract dispute with the operator under a Joint Operating Agreement.  Obtained a multi-million-dollar award at the conclusion of an arbitration
  • Trial Counsel to a local fiberglass manufacturing company and its owner in a seven-week jury trial in Hartford, Connecticut.  Obtained a defense verdict on claims where the plaintiff was seeking over $42 million in damages.  The jury also returned a verdict in favor of clients on their counterclaim and awarded approximately $1.7 million in damages
  • Trial Counsel to a well stimulation chemical company in a breach of fiduciary duty and trade secret case against a competitor. Obtained a multi-million-dollar jury verdict after a nearly two-week jury trial
  • Trial Counsel to a local real estate developer in a tortious interference lawsuit against an oil and gas company. Obtained a multi-million-dollar jury verdict after a two-week jury trial
  • Trial Counsel to a national fiberglass truck body manufacturer in a false advertising, trade dress infringement, and misappropriation lawsuit. Obtained a multi-million-dollar judgment after a one-week jury trial
  • Represented a national logistics company in a trade secret and computer hacking lawsuit; client received in excess of $10 million as part of a settlement, along with a public apology
