Scott L. Zimmer

BIOGRAPHY

Scott Zimmer is a partner in the firm’s litigation section. He is a seasoned litigator and appellate advocate with a strong track record of defending energy companies and other businesses in high-stakes federal and state court lawsuits. With decades of proven experience, Mr. Zimmer excels in resolving cases both inside and outside the courtroom, including mediation, arbitration, trials, and appeals. His expertise spans single and multiple plaintiff claims, class action lawsuits, and multidistrict litigation (MDLs).

Throughout his career, Mr. Zimmer has resolved billions of dollars in claims for Fortune 500 corporations and privately held companies across Louisiana and beyond. His client roster includes global, national, and local energy companies operating in Louisiana and Texas, as well as major trucking and successful commercial interests.

Known for his meticulous case preparation, strategic litigation tactics, and veteran case management, Mr. Zimmer is an effective advocate who leverages his substantial trial and appellate skills to benefit his clients. He is adept at crafting compelling narratives, building optimal trial teams, and developing evidence that promotes favorable settlements or wins at trial and on appeal. With a national reputation, Mr. Zimmer is frequently sought out by other lawyers and law firms to serve as Louisiana and Texas counsel in their most complex multi-state claims.

Prior to joining Kelly Hart, Mr. Zimmer was a partner at Kean Miller LLP in Louisiana.
