Kelly Hart & Hallman appreciates the importance of hiring talented, young lawyers. Seventeen of our young lawyers were named 2018 Texas Rising Stars by Thomson Reuters, which recognizes the top 2.5% of lawyers under age forty. Five were named 2017 Top Attorneys in less than five years of practice by Fort Worth, Texas magazine and 30 young Kelly Hart attorneys were listed amongst the 2017 Top Attorneys by 360 West magazine. To continue this tradition of excellence, Kelly Hart actively seeks the most highly qualified law students with both excellent academic records and a commitment to teamwork and professionalism.
Kelly Hart's six week summer program introduces second year law students to the work environment they will experience as a first year associate. Each summer associate is partnered with two sponsors who guide them through the clerkship experience, facilitate introductions, advise on work assignments, provide feedback, and offer insight into the culture of Kelly Hart.
Summer associates are given the opportunity to split time between transactional and litigation practice groups. They also play active roles in ongoing cases and transactions and are provided opportunities to attend trials, closings, depositions, contract negotiations, hearings and client meetings. Consistent with Kelly Hart's commitment to provide pro bono legal services, summer associates participate in the Tarrant County Chapter of Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans Legal Clinic.
Kelly Hart's Summer Clerk Program also presents several opportunities to interact with our lawyers outside of the work environment and gain exposure to some of the best cultural and recreational resources our community has to offer.
In the fall of 2018, we will be conducting interviews of second-year law students at the following locations:
