Elizabeth Geary-Hill joins Kelly Hart as a partner in the Appellate Law Section.
Geary-Hill is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law. Often sought out by other attorneys to handle complex briefing and oral argument, she has successfully pursued litigation and appellate matters at every level of state and federal courts throughout Texas and New Mexico. She also prepared a successful defense against a petition for writ of certiorari before the Supreme Court of the United States. Ms. Geary-Hill first argued at the Supreme Court of Texas during her second year of practice.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Geary-Hill worked in a wide range of appellate and litigation areas, including disputes in commercial, corporate and financial, energy, intellectual property, estate disputes, and issues related to civil procedure and evidence, among others. She has taught legal practice and writing, as well as winery and vineyard law, as an adjunct professor at Texas Tech School of Law.
Ms. Geary-Hill received her J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude and was a member of the Law Review. She was a two-time National Champion in intercollegiate moot court competitions and at the time of her graduation was regarded as the most decorated advocate in Tech Law history. In addition to her legal career, Ms. Geary-Hill presently serves on the Board of Directors for the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and is the immediate past President of the Board of Directors for the Lubbock YWCA.
