Kelly Hart has added veteran trial lawyer and former federal enforcement attorney Tyson M. Lies as a partner in the firm’s litigation section.
Lies joins the firm following a significant career in public service at both the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). He most recently served as a trial attorney in the SEC’s Fort Worth Regional Office, where he led investigations and prosecutions into complex securities fraud and investment misconduct.
Before his time at the SEC, Lies was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Montana, representing federal agencies in statutory, tort, and constitutional matters. His background also includes high-stakes private practice, having handled securities litigation and SEC enforcement defense for corporations and executives at a large international law firm.
Lies’s versatile practice ranges from managing major corporate internal investigations and FCPA defense to handling personal injury and wrongful death cases. He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jane J. Boyle of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
