Joseph Austin has been appointed to Fort Worth’s Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission. The Commission oversees the City’s Certified Local Government Program, promotes the importance of preserving historical sites, and conducts surveys to identify significant resources. It holds hearings to recommend the designation of Historic Structures, maintains and updates the Historic Resources Survey, enforces design guidelines for “HC” Overlay Districts, makes decisions on Certificates of Appropriateness, reviews public projects in or near these districts, and manages the City’s Historic Site tax exemption program.
